The labs in this course show you how to add Watson cognitive analytics to mobile applications that are written in Swift and iOS. You’ll write a simple graphical user interface (GUI) for iOS in Swift and then create a cognitive service in Watson on IBM Bluemix, IBM’s cloud platform as a service. You’ll install the Watson iOS SDK that enables you to quickly add Watson cognitive computing services to your Swift iOS mobile applications
You’ll use the Apple integrated development environment Xcode, the package manager Carthage, and the Watson Developer Cloud SDK for iOS on your Apple device.
After you complete this course, you will be able to:
- Use the IBM Watson Developer Cloud SDK for iOS and Swift
- Build simple cognitive mobile applications that can:
- Analyze sentiment
- Recognize photos
- Convert text to speech
You can then use your new skills to build similar applications to use other Watson services, such as Watson Conversation, Natural Language Classifier, Tone Analyzer, and Personality Insights.
