REST APIs and credential stores
All Watson Developer Cloud services are exposed as REST APIs. This allows them to be readily consumed and incorporated into your applications. As you develop your applications, you will create functionality that can be reused and consumed by you in other applications, by your colleagues, or by the greater development community. REST allows you to expose your new, unique, in-demand functionality, allowing it to be readily consumed by others.
As you develop your application, you might want to share it with others. What you don’t want to do is share any credentials, particularly those that are tied to your credit card. When you get to this stage, you will want to remove any hard-coded credentials from any files that you share. To avoid exposing credentials, you can use a credential store, which you won’t share. You separate these credentials into a file and use that file to override credentials from IBM Bluemix.
