The Palo Alto Training by Iteanz is designed to equip aspiring network security professionals, cybersecurity engineers, system administrators, and IT operations teams with hands-on expertise in deploying, configuring, and managing Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFWs).
This training focuses on real-world security operations, including firewall configuration, security policies, traffic inspection, threat prevention, and network segmentation. Learners will gain practical experience in managing applications, users, and content-based security rules while ensuring enterprise-grade protection against modern cyber threats. The course also covers essential Palo Alto capabilities such as App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, NAT policies, VPN configuration, URL filtering, logging, monitoring, and security reporting. By the end of the program, participants will be able to design secure network architectures, monitor threats effectively, and maintain compliance across enterprise environments.

Module 3: Interface and Zone Configuration
- Defining Security Zones and Interface types (Tap, Virtual Wire, Layer 2, Layer 3).
- Configuring Sub-interfaces and VLAN tagging.
- Virtual Routers: Static Routing, OSPF, and BGP overview.
Module 4: Security and NAT Policies
- Security Policy Rulebase: Match criteria and actions.
- Network Address Translation (NAT): Source NAT (Static/Dynamic) and Destination NAT (Port Forwarding).
- Policy-based forwarding (PBF).
Module 5: App-ID™ (Application Identification)
- Introduction to App-ID and its benefits over port-based security.
- Using Application Groups and Filters.
- Creating Application Overrides and custom App-IDs.
Module 6: Content-ID™ & Threat Prevention
- Security Profiles: Antivirus, Anti-Spyware, and Vulnerability Protection.
- File Blocking and Data Filtering profiles.
- Configuring Zone Protection and DoS Protection.
Module 7: User-ID™ & URL Filtering
- Integrating with Active Directory/LDAP for User-ID.
- Captive Portal for user authentication.
- URL Filtering: Custom categories and block/allow lists.
Module 8: WildFire™ & SSL Decryption
- Advanced malware analysis with WildFire.
- SSL Decryption: Inbound inspection and Forward Proxy.
- Managing certificates for decryption.
Module 9: VPN Configuration (Remote Access & Site-to-Site)
- Configuring Site-to-Site IPsec VPNs.
- GlobalProtect Setup: Portal and Gateway configuration.
- Authentication profiles and certificates for VPN users.
Module 10: Monitoring, Logging, and High Availability
- Using ACC (Application Command Center) for visibility.
- Log forwarding (Syslog/SNMP) and report generation.
- High Availability (HA) concepts: Active/Passive vs. Active/Active.
